10 Things You Might Not Know About Me and My Life!

Here Are 10 Things You May Be Interested to Know About Me

Before I take you along with me on my journey through life, I figured I would start off with a post that is more about myself to help my readers get to know me a little better. So without further ado, here are 10 things about me that you might not know!

1. I am a twin:

Aside from having an older brother, I do have a twin. That is one of the unique things about me – my #1 best friend in the whole world is my twin sister! Unfortunately, she is still living in America while I am not but we are still extremely close. We have been pretty close our whole lives, but once we graduated high school and went off to different colleges, it brought us closer. Now that we have graduated college and are on two different continents, that bond is only getting stronger between us.

2. I am born and raised in America and I recently moved to Bulgaria:

I was born in the DMV area – Montgomery County, Maryland to be more specific – and my entire family is from Bulgaria. I lived there for 22 ½ years and decided to relocate to Bulgaria. By recently moving here I mean about 10 months ago and it was a choice that I made on my own. Stay tuned for a separate blog about this experience and how it’s treating me so far!

3. I was a cheerleader for 4 years:

I was a huge tomboy when I was young, but my sister and my friends convinced me to try out for the cheer team when I was a sophomore in high school. Ending up falling in love with the sport, I continued cheering through high school and did 1 year in college. I later worked at a cheer gym for a close friend/coach. If I could still do it, there would be no doubt that I would.

4. I studied abroad in Florence, Italy:

It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I met some great people, lived in one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, ate delicious food, and more. Without a doubt, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. There will be a blog about this experience of mine coming soon!

5. My favorite thing to do is to travel:

My first traveling experience was when I was about 8-12 months old (not that I remember). I constantly traveled to and from Bulgaria to visit family. As I got older (the end of high school/until senior year of college) I didn’t really get to travel unless it was within the U.S. When I was studying abroad I caught a major travel bug. 2 years and counting later, I have had the time of my life traveling.

6. I am both an introvert and an extrovert:

I am one of those people who will go and sit down at a restaurant by themselves to enjoy a meal. Generally, I am a shy person when meeting new people, however, when we get to know each other I am super open and fun! I love being alone and having time to myself, but I do also like spending time with others.

7. I love staying busy:

Some people get overwhelmed when they have too much on their plate, but I actually like it. It’s great for productivity, planning schedules, and getting organized. Of course, I do also yearn for those “do nothing” days.

8. I love horror movies, but I am a huge scaredy-cat:

Aside from comedy, I absolutely LOVE a good horror movie! It is exciting, suspenseful, thrilling, and more. However, later I will picture the scary moments in the scenes, freak myself out, etc. Then there’s the fact that I believe ghosts and demons are real, and I get spooked easily.

9. I have a son:

Just kidding – it’s just my dog! He is a Weimaraner named Jaxson and the light of my life (aka why I call him my son). I miss him terribly and I talk to him regularly on FaceTime … judge all you want, but I am a dog mom and proud of it! I share him with my sister who is taking care of him full-time since I am not there. I owe her big time for it – but how could you not want to love this cutie?!

10. I’ve been putting off this blog for a few years now:

I have had thoughts and a not-so-detailed plan for starting this blog a few years ago, though I never got around to. Since I took that jump and dove right in (which I am glad I did), I am hoping for the best!

I hope that wasn’t too much for you and that you learned something new or found this an interesting read. Let me know what surprised you the most or if you can relate in any way!
