How to Celebrate the 4th of July in Quarantine

If it were any ordinary year, most people would be getting ready to celebrate the 4th of July with barbecues and fireworks shows. From backyard gatherings to pool parties and even trips to the beach, the whole weekend would’ve been packed with friends and family. However, this year, people will likely have to celebrate the 4th of July in quarantine.

Even if your county or state has eased up on the restrictions regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), it’s still best if you play it safe. Continuing to wear masks when out in public, social distancing, and quarantining as much as possible is important, even if it seems like this virus is dying down. Heads up…it’s not.

The 4th of July in Quarantine

Even though most Americans are quarantining, most are also looking to have some fun. Just because you’re playing it safe, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Here are some ways that you can celebrate the 4th of July in quarantine.

Celebrate the 4th of July in Quarantine

Get Festive

Decorate! Nothing says “4th of July” more than American flag-themed items. Paper plates; napkins; the flag itself; red, white, and blue foods; balloons; streamers; etc. You can buy a bunch of USA-themed decorations from your local party store or even order them off of Amazon with 2-day prime delivery!

Backyard Games

Get the whole family involved in some games! Not only will it give you a chance to go outside, but it will also keep everyone busy and having fun. Whether it’s a game of volleyball, badminton, soccer, basketball, football, or even a few drinking games for the adults, the options are endless.

Get Dressed Up

This is sure to put everyone in a good mood. Put on your 4th of July-themed swimsuits, your American flag shorts, t-shirts, sunglasses, whatever you got! If you don’t have anything American flag or 4th of July-themed, simply wearing red, white, and/or blue will do fine!

All-American Menu

You can’t forget to eat. Get the menu in check by grilling hot dogs, burgers, and don’t forget the 4th of July-themed appetizers and desserts like the ones you can find on Pinterest! Make sure there’s something to drink, too!

Stay Safe

If you can help but to throw a 4th of July gathering during quarantine, keep the party outside. Staying outdoors and having your guests keep their distance while all wearing masks is crucial. Make sure to have hand sanitizer around, too.

Stay safe no matter how you celebrate the 4th of July in quarantine!

Don’t forget the sparklers!
