Mixed Berry Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Smoothies are great as is, but what makes them even better is turning them into smoothie bowls and adding toppings. Smoothie bowls are similar to Açaí bowls, which I absolutely love, but they are a cheaper option and the ingredients are oftentimes easier to find in stores. Mixed berry smoothies are my favorite, which is why I’m focusing on this one today!

Berry Smoothie Bowl

In Bulgaria, frozen açaí is very hard to find… and by that I mean that I personally haven’t found it haha. I can get my hands on açaí powder, but it is too expensive here for the amount that you get and I don’t think the taste is the same. SO, mixed berry smoothie bowls will have to do and I have to say that they certainly satisfy the craving for açaí bowls.

Mixed Berry Smoothie Bowl Ingredients

To be honest, I don’t ever and haven’t ever measured the ingredients that I put in my smoothies or smoothie bowls, I just eye ball it. But, here’s what you need:

Smoothie Base:

  • Frozen Mixed Berries (usually consists of blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries)
  • Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • Milk of Choice – I prefer hazelnut milk at the moment

If you absolutely need measurements in order to make your smoothie base, let’s just say a handful of berries and ¼ cup of milk. You can also use fresh berries if you want, I prefer frozen for a thicker consistency.


  • Granola
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Fresh Blueberries
  • Fresh Banana
  • Chia Seeds
  • Coconut Flakes or Shavings
  • Peanut Butter
  • Honey

Berry Smoothie Bowl Recipe

You can add all kinds of toppings based on what you have on hand or what you like. The toppings above are just what I like to add. I sometimes go all out and include them all or I go for a simpler bowl.

Smoothie Bowl Preparation

  1. Add the smoothie base ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. You may need to stop, mix everything together with a spoon, and blend again in order to get smooth consistency throughout.
  2. Pour into a bowl and top with your choice of toppings.
  3. Enjoy!

Smoothie bowls are not much different than regular smoothies. They’re super easy to make, delicious, and healthy!
